Dr. Alfred Kikoti, founder of the World Elephant Centre (WEC) and Chair of the Kesho Trust board, died in 2017. He was a dedicated conservationist and elephant specialist. He was also an intended leader of our study tour. His field assistant, Rama Kimbu, joined the tour in his place and provided insights into the work of the World Elephant Centre. The WEC continues it s work on tracking elephant movements and corridor and area management of elephant populations. Alfred’s vision of a world class visitor centre at Kilima Tembo also continues to be pursued.
