In 2012/13 EMAYO supported their community of Elerai to construct a charcoal dam to collect the rainwater for domestic use as well as watering livestock. The cost of constructing the dam was estimated to be $ 56,250 and in 2013 the community managed to raise the necessary funds and construct the dam. Unfortunately this year the dam was flooded and broke due to heavy rain falls and swept away the hopes of the community of having water for the 2014 dry season. They now have to raise additional funds to repair the dam so that the community will be able to use the water source by 2015. Please offer your assistance to the community.
