The community forest lands of the villages of Enguserosambu, Naan, Ng’arwa and Orkiu Juu are the homeland of the Loita Maasai. Our hosts, members of the Enguserosambu Forest Trust, provided us with an understanding of the special characteristics of their forests which are such an important and integral part of their culture, economy and traditions.
We also had the opportunity to meet all the board members and discuss their role as a management body representing all the four villages and different members spoke about the benefits of the work of the EFT and their challenges.
